Hygun Group, Inc. Honors Heroes at 2012's Wreaths Across America

Holiday patriotism was shared at the annual Wreaths Across America event honoring our fallen heroes at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA with evergreen wreaths at each veterans' headstone.

Jan. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Wreaths Across America is now a 20-year-old tradition of laying an evergreen wreath at all our National Cemeteries across our nation to honor our service men and women and to remember them during the holidays.

Hygun Group's employees had the opportunity to experience the simple gesture of laying an evergreen wreath at the headstone of our nation's veterans and heroes.  This gesture is truly a moving and emotional gift we can give back to show our appreciation for their service and the belief in their enduring strength to protect our country.  The evergreen wreath is a symbol of strength, growth and everlasting life. At Wreaths Across America their mission is simple, to REMEMBER, HONOR, TEACH. Their message is about the importance of remembering our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms.  Every year, logistical support for wreath laying and other ceremonies at cemeteries and memorials in all 50 states and beyond is a staggering feat. The volunteers from all states flock to our National Cemeteries to lend a few hours out of their busy holiday schedules to adorn these graves amongst the marble headstones with wreaths -- remains a touching holiday sight to experience and to see the out-pouring of support, care and love of our honored military members. Our Hygun employees were moved with the renewed spirit of patriotism for the holidays and were emotionally touched by the overwhelming act of kindness for our Nation's Treasures, our heroes.

The story behind the project Wreaths Across America is made possible by a businessman from Maine, Morrill Worcester who started the annual wreath laying in 1992 at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Worcester is the owner of Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine, was a 12 year old boy when he won a trip to Washington, D.C.  His first trip to our nation's capital was one he would never forget, and Arlington National Cemetery made an especially indelible impression on him. This experience followed him throughout his life and successful career in business, reminding him that his good fortune was due, in large part, to the values of this nation and the Veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their Country.

In 1992, Worcester Wreath Company found themselves with a surplus of wreaths nearing the end of the holiday season. Mr. Worcester having a fond memory of Arlington National Cemetery, realized he had an opportunity to honor our country's Veterans. And a new tradition was started by the Worcester Wreath Company and is now a National and Congressional recognized event in all 50 states, territories, and even in overseas cemeteries. Thank you Mr. Worcester and Worcester Wreath Company for making such a cherished and honored tradition for the holidays for our heroes.
