The Atenza arrived sporting a new design theme, Kodo-Soul of Motion, shared by all new-generation Mazdas, and even bears a new body color to accompany the theme, Soul Red Premium Metallic. The Atenza will feature Mazda’s new SKYACTIV Technology that is designed to provide a powerful ride all while offering refined steering and interior comfort. The all-new Atenza can cruise with either a SKYACTIV 4-cylinder or a clean-diesel SKYACTIV-D 2.2.


The SKYACTIV-D 2.2 features the world’s first capacitor-based brake-energy regeneration system called i-Eloop that was meticulously crafted to quickly recover more energy than a typical battery system and use that energy to power accessories such as air conditioning while idling. Also featured is Mazda’s idling system called i-Stop that shuts down the engine automatically when the car is in idle and then restarts it again when the driver resumes driving. This allows for higher fuel efficiency, with EPA speculations at about 36-38 mpg on the highway.  


The all-new Atenza also embraces “Mazda Proactive Safety.” Loaded with a series of innovative safety technologies specifically designed to support safe driving called i-Activesense, the Atenza utilizes cameras and millimeter-wave radars to provide features such as Lane Departure Warning and Rear Vehicle Monitoring.
