President Desmer with winner Estella Dior Wright
The Deep Topics Toastmasters Club in Brunswick, GA is holding reigns as their own Estella Dior Wright took the 1st Place Title in the International Speech and Table Topics Contests and is now moving forward to compete in the next round in Way Cross, GA on February 23, 2013. Winning both rounds, Ms. Dior’s speeches on “The Most Exciting Moment In Your Life” and “Your Past Doesn’t Define Your Future” won her a placement into the Semi-Finals.
Thinking back on her youth, Ms. Dior was always a natural in blazing stages for youth groups in church and other organizations. As she entered her adulthood, she began to use her talents and speak to youth and women groups. Her goal is not to just speak to the community, but to inform them through conversations. Known for having the title “Inspirational Conversationalist”
Upon delivering her speeches Ms. Dior awaited the announcement for the winner of Toastmasters in Brunswick, GA. With crossed fingers and saying a small prayer, she was overjoyed when Mr. Blaise Desmer, the President of The Deep Topics Toastmaster Club called her name and announced to the audience of her winnings. “Leaving the podium was the easiest part of the speech”, says Ms. Dior, “But it was by God’s will that I made it this far.”
Although she feels that leaving the podium was the easiest part, Ms. Dior walked away with not just a powerful speech, but she left the podium to a standing ovation. Powerful words lead to new beginnings. We congratulate Ms. Dior and we look forward to hearing her in the upcoming Toastmasters Competitions.
