Under the terms of the merger, the Spascape Day Spa clients will be welcomed to Dolce Med Spa & Boutique at its 2001B Washington Street, Hanover location, and the spa has geared up to accommodate the increased clientele. Spacape Day Spa had built a client base of thousands of members, which complements Dolce Med Spa’s similar-sized clientele.
Tracey Lively, president of Dolce Med Spa (www.dolcemed.com), said that she and Spascape owner Deborah Larsen had reached the merger agreement earlier this fall. Larson, who was diagnosed with lymphoma several years ago, began directing her clients to Dolce Med Spa in order to focus on her health. Lively noted, “Deborah is a respected colleague and has become a friend throughout this process.” She continued, “She is well-regarded in this industry and it is my hope that as her circumstances allow, she will be an active part of the Dolce team as we go forward.”
As the merger got underway, Dolce Med Spa & Boutique began by honoring all Spascape gift certificates at 100% of their value for the first month, and will continue to do so at a percentage of value throughout 2012 and into 2013. Additionally, Dolce Med Spa & Boutique is in the process of hiring a half dozen of Spascape’s therapists and aestheticians.
Larson said of the merger, “I’ve not only made a good business decision, I’ve made a friend who is going to help me get through this.”
In addition to the aestheticians and therapists who are being brought on board to assist with the increased clientele, Dolce Med Spa & Boutique has named a new Medical Director and new Physicians’ Assistant. Additionally, the spa has plans to bring several skin care products to market later this year.
