This special math lab at Robert Gisler Elementary School will be open to more than 500 students and house MIND Research Institute’s Spatial Temporal Math education program. This program is designed to grow students interest and success in science as well as the latest technologies, engineering, and math through an interactive program featuring a penguin named JiJi who instructs the students as they conqueror visual puzzles.

The hope behind the MIND Research Institute’s program is that not only will it improve the quality of the students overall education, but also better prepare them to meet the difficult California State Standards in math. The program has already been in use with more than 200,000 students in the state of California and has shown to double students growth in math proficiency. For Hyundai this is not the first gift of funding, but rather the fourth of its kind, as Hyundai is committed to improving math education.
