Dec. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- January 2nd of every year is National Motivation & Inspiration Day© as passed by The United States Congress after the tragic events of 9-11-01 (H. Res. 308  12/18/01).  Kevin L. McCrudden became the only motivational and leadership speaker in America to ever have such a day of recognition passed by Congress. Quite the accomplishment !

The creation and importance of National Motivation & Inspiration Day© is the focus on how important “motivation and inspiration” are in every human endeavor and how the establishment of realistic personal goals every year can lead individuals to greater levels of achievement and satisfaction.

From President John F. Kennedy’s commitment to go to the moon; to our modern day Mars Landings; to a simple trip to the store.  All must begin with a plan.  As the saying goes, “plan your work and work your plan.”

Studies have stated that the “Top 3%” of all achievers write down personal goals annually and work diligently toward the achievement of those goals.  Also, that 85% of people that establish “New Years Resolutions,” forget those resolutions and no longer strive to achieve them by the end of January each year.

With this is mind, Mr. McCrudden, the founder of National Motivation & Inspiration Day© urges people, especially young adults to create realistic annual goals to work toward in order to avoid the mentality of “same stuff different day” that so many people have, which he believes leads to a life of underachievement.  Without goals that are established and written down, one year leads into another and another without ever “achieving” any established goal.

In addition, Mr. McCrudden is author of "Who Are You?" where he introduces the most significant addition to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in 60 years.  Dr. Abraham Maslow's work is considered one of the foundational studies on human behavior and motivation, that is what makes Mr. McCrudden's book so important.  He is also releasing a new audio book, "A New Year and a New You!", as well as an iPhone and iPad APP to establish and track your goals for the new year!

Why are "motivation" and "inspiration" so important.  Well, if you follow the challenges since 9-11 you will notice the consistency of how people come together in the face of tragedy.  Whether it be Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy or Sandy Hook Elementary. Americans come together in the face of tragedy and are inspired and motivated to make a difference.

In conjunction with National Motivation & Inspiration Day© McCrudden also created The American Motivation Awards, honoring “motivational, inspirational and patriotic leaders in America.”  The awards honor people that exemplify a distinguished life of character and provide an example that will inspire and motivate others to choose to live and “inspired life.”

The American Motivation Awards have honored such luminaries as recently deceased Zig Ziglar and Dr. Stephen Covey.   Mr. McCrudden will announce this year’s recipients on January 2nd.
