Dec. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Morehead City, NC — Initial inspection shows Trans Environmental experienced minimal effects from the winter tornadoes that hit Eastern North Carolina the day after Christmas. Power, water, and other utilities continue in service.

Mark Jensen, President of Transport Environmental Systems, Inc., said, "We will re-open for business on January 2nd, following the holidays."

Dr. Jensen continued, "I want to thank the National Weather Service, WITN, and WNCT for up-to-date storm tracking through the Southern Outer Banks and Carteret County. With their information we were able to act effectively to protect our employees and business."

Morehead City and Beaufort were hit harder with roof damage, trees uprooted, and loss of power. The storm was reminiscent of the severe winter tornadoes from last year, 2011. Thankfully, damage this year was lighter. There was no loss of life this year. Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative has restored power to our neighbors Down East.
