The Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in partnership with the Pompano Beach Chamber, will be hosting a Grand Re-Opening event for Checkers Old Munchen, a family owned German restaurant that specializes in authentic German cuisine.

Checkers Old Munchen, located at 2209 East Atlantic Boulevard, was closed in March 2012 after a destructive fire in the kitchen forced the restaurant to close for most of the year. After several months serving local German favorites out of the Diner-by-the-Sea, owner Matthew Moore and staff are back in Pompano and serving up their famous food.

The Record Rack, currently located in the Harbor Village Shoppes will also be celebrating the opening of their new location next door to Checkers Old Munchen.

The Grand Re-Opening event will take place from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and will include beer tastings and authentic German cuisine.
