The Urban Car of the Year Award Goes to the Cadillac ATS

Each January at the North American International Auto Show, the Urban Wheel Awards are held, where vehicles are honored for their appeal to city drivers. The awards are given out for car, truck, and green vehicle of the year, and are chosen by a panel of judges who spend months poring over the most practical, stylish, and attainable vehicles for the new year.

Serving the compact sport sedan segment, the ATS is smaller than the centerpiece of Cadillac's line — the CTS — making it the lightest vehicle in its class. This sporty sedan comes standard with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, with the option for a 3.6L V6. Modern technology features such as Bluetooth compatibility and satellite radio are standard.

The judges also praised the vehicle's nimble handling and performance, as well as its unique design. Not only is the ATS being recognized for its ability to perform as an automobile, but also for its status as a cultural element.
