The Shannon Miller Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is focused on fighting childhood obesity by offering children the opportunity to be physically active, and gain greater nutritional knowledge.
Miller and Culver, who is also a local personal trainer and fitness consultant, worked with top fitness experts in Jacksonville to create the 12 week Team Fit Future training program, which incorporates:
- cooking classes
- boot camp
- free gym days
- group runs
that will help participants get ready to walk or run the SML Women’s 5K Walk / Run, later in the year.
This 5K Training Program is open to men and women. The cost of the entire 12 week program is $100, and the proceeds go directly back to the Shannon Miller Foundation, to support their local children’s programs.
Corporate Sponsors of the Team Fit Future Program include local Jacksonville businesses: 1st Place Sports, Jump PT, the Whole Foods Market, JOC Fitness, and Shannon Miller Lifestyle.
Shannon Miller Foundation Executive Director Jackie Culver said, “Shannon Miller Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Team Fit Future to our fitness programs. The Team Fit Future Program will help Moms and Dad, Aunts and Uncles, as adults to set healthy examples for children, who are our future leaders.”
