Let the Politicians Fall Off the Fiscal Cliff

Dec. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- The American people have had it with the political stalemates that have become more of the protocol than the actual governing of our country. We have become our own worst enemy and to do nothing or to create standoffs between parties is the only accomplishments that seem to be done at the expense of the American people and the state of our economy.

The longer we keep paying elected politicians to do nothing and leave us in a worse state of affairs, we can only blame ourselves. The fact that the country is in need of jobs that can be created tomorrow, and they can, we have career politicians afraid to step up and pass tax increases on millionaires and billionaires who have openly admitted they don’t pay enough taxes already. What are the real issues going on here?

There needs to be a true assessment of what is not being said and maybe therein lays the real issues that we must address. What we are not hearing is who is telling the republicans not to vote for higher taxes on the wealthy? Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, to name names, have openly said they should and would pay more taxes.

How long would that take to accomplish that? Who is responsible for seeing that become law? Why are they not doing their job? Do we need to get someone else to do that job? Are they being told not to do their job? What are the positions of the lobbyists here? What is their angle?

Working for a Fortune 500 Company, I just received an email from the CEO this week that stated the company would no longer be matching our 401k plan since the company was continuing to experience less than favorable business results from clients suffering along with us in this economy.

This was basically the last benefit we were getting from our employer aside from still having a job. Working for this company for some four decades has seen us go from every imaginable benefit paid at 100% by the company, to now 100% paid from our pockets.

The reality is, that the CEO level of large U.S. corporations have seen skyrocketing benefits and the lower end of the pay scale jobs have seen every benefit stripped of their existence. This pattern has been emulated from the government and political positions as well.

I mentioned that jobs could be created tomorrow and here’s how. What we need is for people to use the intelligence that is already available and put it into practice. Wind and solar energy is clean, reusable, and needs to be a new standard of energy applied to residential homes in America.

If you create factories around the country that produce these products and make it a law that every new residential home is fitted with solar panels as a certain percentage of the energy source and savings, there is your market. Existing homes could benefit from tax savings by retro-fitting their needs for energy savings as well.

This job creation satisfies so many aspects of job development, workplace locations, job skills, job market, materials, construction, EPA improvements, energy savings, tax benefits, do I need to go on?

That took all of one suggestion to ask yourself why that wouldn't work and its important to realize that the problems we are facing are not of coming from the lack of solutions but rather what it is going to take to get the solutions into motion? People need jobs that just need the wealthy investors to spend it on getting the whole ball rolling and quickly.

Career politicians are using every excuse to stop, stunt, and prevent progress from taking effect immediately, period. If you don’t actively pursue your local politicians to act, or be acted upon, in a revolting manner, nothing is going to stop us all from suffering even greater losses before we see our economy improve.

The wealthy are not doing what is needed, creating jobs, and why not? Because they are looking beyond our shores for cheaper labor and incentives from the government to give them tax breaks. It’s time to take back our American pride and produce jobs and products that will directly affect the values of our lives. We are smarter than we are allowing our politicians to baffle and confuse us into poverty.

America has every resource available to re-start and ignite our own economy into the powerhouse it can be again. The choice is ours to make it happen today. I challenge those who have the abilities to start this clean energy revolution immediately and show the world how we do it in America.
