Dec. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Houston, Texas -- If you closely look at the United States Automotive market, you will find out Japanese Automobiles are taking the lead. Success of Automotive industry directly affects the economy, jobs growth & the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). If one looks at all the factors you will see U.S Automotive industry is declining. Once you crunch the numbers and do a detailed analysis you will find out deep rooted problems.
If you look at the data of Six major Auto manufacturers namely General Motors (GM ), Ford Motor Company, Chrysler based out of Detroit and Japanese manufacturers Toyota, Honda & Nissan you will find out economy, employment & GDP of associated states is closely associated to this data.
Today we are going to closely look at Honda, its success & its failures. Honda started manufacturing in United States about twenty Five years ago and since then it has also been exporting Hondas vehicles made out of United States apart from selling them locally. Today Honda builds more vehicles out of its Marysville assembly plant than at home ( Japan ). Honda has big plans in the future. All this was only possible because of the congressional pressure about thirty years back when producing vehicles out of Japan was out of question for Japanese Automakers. Today Honda vehicles are loved around the world. Today Honda's commitment is to double the production and build quality vehicles in its manufacturing plants in United States to export. In coming years Honda will start building Honda engines, small components, and will build their vehicles 100% in United States.
Since 1988 Honda has exported over $20 billion worth of Honda vehicles and parts and components out of United States. Honda now has an array of parts suppliers in United States, these supply chains help in bringing production costs down and boosts employment and GDP of the states where jobs are being produced. Honda has also done a lot for the local communities. On December 05, 2012 Honda produced its one millionth vehicle out of its production lines from their production facility in Ohio bound for South Korean market. In South Korea Honda recently started selling U.S made Honda.
Honda was the first Japanese automaker who started producing vehicles in the U.S. and also was the first automaker from Japan who started exporting vehicles made in United States. This is a land mark achievement ! In 1988 Honda started exporting Accords to Taiwan.
Honda has been great success and holds the biggest market share with its arch rival Toyota. People love their Honda, this is the reason why we still see 1990 model Honda Civics on the road. Even if the engine in their 20 year old Honda fails, people are happy to keep it because they can buy used Honda engines that are imported from Japan and are tested and get back on the road again.
