Manna Food Tree
The $18,235 will go a long way toward helping the food bank continue its mission of helping those in need, and all of the donated food will certainly help, too. There are more than 8,000 individuals in the area who are in need this holiday season, and MANNA has helped more than 44,000 per year. They’re one of the largest food pantries in the area, and they perform a vital service to the community.
MANNA provides short-term emergency food assistance, which is vital at all times of the year. The organization provides food 22 days of each month and, on average, serves 120 people per day — and demand is growing. Every effort is made to provide families with nutritional food, with each of the five food groups included in a meal whenever possible.
This donation from the employees of Allen Turner Hyundai is especially crucial in light of the fact that MANNA receives very little in the way of government assistance. Their continued operation is largely dependent upon the donations of food and money from individuals and local business.
Donations are accepted on both a designated and undesignated basis, and potential givers can even donate stocks and other assets. Money is of course a welcome donation as well. Donations via Paypal (https://www.paypal.com/
Donations of food are needed, too, with particular importance placed on canned meats and fish, vegetable and meat soups, canned fruit, and pasta. Those who wish to contribute to the cause but don’t have the financial resources to make a large donation can hold a food drive (http://www.mannafoodpantries.org/
The employees of Allen Turner Hyundai are proud to support the MANNA food bank, and hope that their customers will join in supporting this vital service.
