Indie Fave Nick Blaemire and The Hustle Donate Proceeds From Holiday Song To Prevent Gun Control

Dec. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- New York: The 9-piece R&B “nerd soul” band Nick Blaemire and the Hustle have recorded a holiday song, and they’re selling it through their website (www.nickblaemireandthehustle.bandcamp.com) – only all the proceeds are being sent to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (www.bradycampaign.org), in observance of the tragedy at Newtown Elementary School last week.

The song, entitled “Wanted You to Know,” costs $1, with the option to increase the donation, and is available now for pre-order. It will officially be released on 12AM on December 23rd, and will be only available until 12AM on December 31st.

“We support the Brady Campaign’s longstanding mission to make our country safer. They work tirelessly to raise awareness of the vital importance of this issue to civilians and makers of policy alike, and right now the best thing we can do is make sure that we’re all paying attention to what’s happening in our country,” said Blaemire, who wrote the song with Zia Hassan, and produced the recording with his collaborator Jesse Vargas. “Music is such a wonderful way to communicate with people, and the holiday season is supposed to be a time for joy and love, but it’s been a tough week for all of us. Hopefully this song can be a reminder of what’s important this Christmas.” In addition to fronting The Hustle, Blaemire was recently featured in an episode of The Good Wife and NCIS and will be seen in upcoming episodes of the new ABC TV series Zero Hour, starring Anthony Edwards.
