Miranda Frost of Grassroots Suicide Prevention says:
"Suicide is fatally still a taboo subject making it difficult for people to be open about struggling with life and to seek help to stay alive.
Always Smiling Through the Tears is a frank, direct and honest account of Kenny’s struggle with life events and experiences leading to his suicide attempt. His story offers hope to the many people thinking about suicide and those who care about them. Kenny reminds us that the challenge of reaching out and being open about the pain of our losses is an essential part of being human and essential to building suicide safer communities.
Grassroots Suicide Prevention is honoured to be collaborating with Kenny and fully endorses his open, honest and direct writing about his experiences with suicide.
Together we can work to prevent suicide"
Hull Samaritans are also looking at working with Kenny and while discussions are ongoing, Dermot Rathbone, Chair Haltemprice and Howden CLP.Sec. Hull Labour Representation Committee, states "It is a fantastic book by Kenny which documents his courage over adversity."
Domestic Violence Accommodation Project is also endorsing Kenny's book and supporting him in his work.
A facilitator from Headway has seen the book, and has recommended it as reading material to her clients, while she is sending a copy to her regional office with a recommendation.
Two radio stations in America wish to interview him and a number of organisations are currently reviewing the book.
If you would like to know what all the fuss is about, you can order the book from Amazon or any book seller, but we are also giving the E-Book away FREE on Boxing Day and New years Day - you can download it then from Amazon.
Kenny has generously donated all royalties from the book to three charities, Hull Samaritans, Grassroots Suicide Prevention and Domestic Violence Accommodation Project, from all sales up to the end of January and we at MyVoice Publishing will match the amount.
