According to EDTS founder and CEO Charles Johnson, the record-setting performance was underscored by being named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America for the third consecutive year. EDTS advanced to 2562nd place on Inc.’s Top 5000 list, up 883 positions from 2011, and ranked highly among IT Service providers – historically the fastest-growing segment.
The year included the strategic acquisitions of complementary businesses in Augusta Information Technologies (Augusta IT) in January and Axios Data in July, along with the launch of EDTS Converged Network Solutions offering integrated voice, data and mobility services with a brand-agnostic point of view. The year was capped in late November when EDTS was honored as the seventh fastest-growing small company in South Carolina on the inaugural statewide Roaring Twenties list, which cited EDTS’s growth rate of 198.4 percent in overall revenues since 2010 in attaining the honor.
EDTS also received one of the technology industry’s top honors this Fall when it was named to CRN's Fast Growth 25. During a period when many tech businesses were saddled with stagnant growth, the Fast Growth 25 enjoyed a two-year growth rate of more than 171% to qualify for honors – proving that working smart and meeting customer needs pays off in even the most challenging economic times.
Earlier in 2012, EDTS was named a member of CRN’s second annual Next-Gen 250 list, which features up and coming value-added resellers (VARs) that are focused on lucrative and emerging technologies including cloud computing, mobility, virtualization, unified communications, business analytics and business intelligence.
Among other honors, EDTS obtained Gold Midmarket Solution Provider Competency and Gold Server Platform Competency honors from Microsoft, demonstrating EDTS’s expertise in meeting customer needs based on the most current Microsoft solutions. EDTS also was named to Elite Partner status with Axcient, a global leader in data backup, business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for business.
The organization was elevated to Enterprise Level Solution Provider status with VMware, the global leader in virtualization solutions, signifying excellence in developing and delivering enterprise-ready cloud computing solutions. CompTIA awarded EDTS with its Managed Service Provider Partners Trustmark for use of industry-accepted best practices in service delivery and customer interaction.
Individually, Charles Johnson, CEO, was featured in a cover story of industry publication Business Solutions entitled “Secrets of a Trusted Network Security Advisor” and was named to the prestigious WatchGuard Partner Advisory Council, while CIO Will McGee was appointed to the Technology Association of Georgia’s Advisory Board.
COO John Tippett was featured on an executive panel at the CompTIA annual members meeting attended by information technology executives from across North America, while other EDTS executives addressed gatherings of the South Carolina County Finance and Technology Professionals Association on the security risk of bringing personal mobile devices into a business network; Augusta State University’s Hull College of Business on data security best practices; and the Aiken (S.C.) Chamber’s Business Academy on business continuity and disaster recovery topics.
“These honors and accomplishments reinforce a growing national recognition of EDTS as an IT service provider that’s demonstrated expertise and is laser-focused on the needs of customers,” said Charles Johnson, CEO of EDTS. "All of us at EDTS are proud to have earned these recognitions even as we work each day to keeping customer organizations running at the highest levels of performance and efficiency.”
