NumberNagar – ‘Galata 221212 - Maths Aadi, Maath Aadi’ A five-day Maths festival to launch

Formal launch of ‘Number Nagar’ followed by a four day festival “Galata 221212 -Maths Aadi, Maath Aadi from December 22 – 26, at Freedom Park, Bengaluru.

Dec. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Bangalore : December 21, 2012: BrainSTARS, Bangalore based company, committed to the development of Science and Maths Education in India, today announced the formal launch of ‘NumberNagar’. The launch is followed by a four day festival “Galata 221212 -Maths Aadi, Maath Aadi from December 22 – 26, at Freedom Park and open to the public.  This is an initiative to transform Maths learning in India and as a tribute to Mathematics genius Srinivasa Ramanujan by celebrating December 22, as Mathematics Day.

Each day of the festival will see the exploration and discovery of Maths concepts in things one sees in daily life and create objects. The self-made objects created and collected over the four days of ‘Galata 221212 – Maths Aadi Maath Aadi’ will be curated for a grand public display.  In addition, there will be games, quizzes, cool maths activities, talk shows with BrainSTARS specialists, and music during the festival. “We are dedicated to encourage and nurture the study of Mathematics in our country and NumberNagar is one such initiative to popularise and make Mathematics as fun learning.  We

have invited many schools to participate, as the events lined up for this festival are versatile.  NumberNagar is a unique hands-on Maths Activity Centre and is designed for visitors of all ages and levels of math ability, but with particular relevance to children in 3 – 8 standards (implementing school curriculum across school boards). “NumberNagar is open for collaborations. We look at working with schools, educational organisations, residential communities, interested institutions and individuals including parents” says Anupama Prakash- President- Communication & Relationships, BrainSTARS.

On December 22, soon after the Inauguration of the festival, a Music program  by acclaimed slide guitarist Prakash Sontakke and his team taking the invited guests through a packed excursion into the world of music improvisation and conclude by presenting BrainSTARS much appreciated NumberNagar anthem, composed by him  and lyrics by Kaverappa Raghavendra D (http://soundcloud.com/numbernagar/sets/numbernagar-song).
