The peer review is conducted by an AICPA-approved independent reviewer, who looks at a sample of the firm’s work with an emphasis on higher-risk engagements during the period covered. The scope of a peer review covers accounting and auditing engagements as well as administrative elements of the firm’s practice to gauge conformity with AICPA quality control standards.
