CULTURE & COCKTAILS at New Home in Lake Worth
The popular series CULTURE & COCKTAILS, hosted by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, recently attracted approximate more than 60 supporters to the second one-on-one "Conversation"
The topic was ALL THAT GLITTERS: A Conversation Between Collector Fred Sharf and Scholar Beth Ram about Trabert & Hoeffer-Mauboussin, the Glamorous Jewelers to Palm Beach Society During the 1930s & 40s. Miss Ram shared numerous anecdotes about various shiny baubles complete with pictures of stars like Katherine Hepburn and Claudette Colbert actually wearing them.
The next CULTURE & COCKTAILS will be held on Monday, January 7, at The Colony Hotel Pavilion, 155 Hammon Avenue in Palm Beach. The topic is HOPE: A Conversation with Hope Alswang, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Norton Museum of Art. She will be interviewed by her South County counterpart, Steven Maklansky, Director of the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
Admission to CULTURE & COCKTAILS programs is $50 per person, and free for members of the Cultural Council ($250 level and above). All proceeds go to the nonprofit Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.
Each event will run from 5 to 7 p.m., with registration and cocktails from 5 to 5:45 p.m., and the “Conversation”
The Colony Hotel will serve complimentary beverages and an array of specially prepared hors' d'oeuvres, plus free valet parking. As an added bonus, attendees will be offered a free bottle of wine with dinner or two-for-one drinks at The Colony’s celebrated Polo Steaks & Seafoods immediately following the Conversation.
People interested in attending CULTURE & COCKTAILS can RSVP before each event by calling the Cultural Council at 561.472.3330.
The 2012-2013 season of CULTURE & COCKTAILS is once again generously sponsored by The Milton and Tamar Maltz Family Foundation, with additional support from The Palm Beach Daily News and PR-BS, a Boca-based public relations firm.
