Scottsdale, ARIZONA (December 20, 2012) – Arizona’s Tri for the Cure (http://www.triforthecureaz.com/index.php) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 7th installment of its all women’s competition.

The event takes place on March 24, 2013, in Chandler, Arizona, and consists of several races, including an adult sprint triathlon, an adult sprint relay triathlon, an adult sprint duathlon and the new 5K run. Tri for the Cure is open to both experienced and aspiring athletes, and there’s great support for first-time triathletes.

“The Tri for the Cure Arizona continues to grow every year, and we're expecting record participation and attendance in 2013,” said Preston Miller, Co-Founder. “This year we’ve added a new 5K run to encourage participation from those ladies who aren’t quite ready for the full triathlon but still wants to support the cause. This is a multi-sport event with a heart—and everyone is welcome!”

The official website for the event, www.triforthecureaz.com, offers very comprehensive local and regional triathlon information, with updated event information and current clinic details along with nutritional tips, training plans, training seminar info and more—and everything is free. One of the newest additions to the site is the “Why I TRI” section, where visitors (and potential triathletes) can read survivor stories, meet celebrity participants and generally be inspired to TRI for themselves. The event also has a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Tri4CureAZ, and athletes can also register through the event’s Active.com link here (http://www.active.com/triathlon/chandler-az/tri-for-the-c...).

“Every year the Tri for the Cure brings together a fantastic group of participants, sponsors, volunteers, survivors and committee members; we truly couldn’t do it without them,” said Cristina Catalano, Chairperson. “We’re looking forward to seeing all of our old friends—and lots of new friends—in 2013. Come out, have fun, be active. Just TRI: it’ll change your life!”

Among Tri for the Cure’s 2013 sponsors are Arizona Wealth Advisors, TriSports, Bicycle Ranch, iRun, M S White, Family Practice Spec, Village, Spooner, Camelback Coaching, Costello-Childs, Endurance Rehab, Fry’s, Mountain Rags, Pink Heals, Rx Skinlabs, Integrated Landscaping Management (Golf Cars) and No Woman Left Behind.

The event is organized by the Tri-Scottsdale Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of Triathlon.
