Gershwin Tribute at The Beehive

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 20, 2012 - WHAT: On Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 the legendary sounds of composer and pianist George Gershwin will flood The Beehive, located in Boston, MA, as a trio of talented vocalists pay homage to his iconic orchestral compositions. From 8:00PM to 12:00AM guests are invited to celebrate Gershwin’s brief lifetime of innovative, creative and timeless compositions from Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris to the musical drama Porgy and Bess.
To honor the great Gershwin, vocalists Nadja Washington, Gabriela Martina and Sissy Castrogiovanni will recreate his signature “folk opera” vibe. His unique sound failed to fit in any musical genre yet was considered highly favorable among the masses of his time, winning him the first ever Pulitzer prize for a musical comedy. Music lovers of any age will be captivated by his fusion of a classical jazz sound.
In the kitchen, Executive Chef Rebecca Newell will serve delicious dishes from The Beehive’s dinner menu such as Seared Duck Breast with Plum Sauce, Pan-Fried Rice and Roasted Grapes ($26) and Roasted Scottish Salmon, Wild Rice, Peas, Cauliflower and Peacan Parsley Pesto ($24) from 5:00PM to 12:00AM. The Beehive’s expert bar team will also be serving up some of their highly acclaimed cocktails from the menu such as the Apline Mai Tai with Dark and Light Rum, Zirbenz Pine Liqueur, Almond and Falernum ($13) all evening long!
