The new 1500 offers consumers an upgrade in powertrain with more efficient engine options. Instead of the 3.7L V6 engine of previous models, owners will now get a new Pentastar 3.6L V6. The legendary 5.7L Hemi V8 also remains. In addition, this truck also received a revised cooling system, electric power steering, and an electrical system with pulse width modulation, which combines with the engine pairing to give Ram a best-in-class fuel economy.
One of the biggest improvements of the Ram 1500 is the addition of air suspension. What this does is allow the truck to hold varying weight loads, whether it’s a single person or at full capacity along with a full bed of cargo. The air suspension also allows for drivers to raise or lower the height of the vehicle as well, which can improve aerodynamics and efficiency while driving on the highway.
Consumers will be amazed at the all-new technological features that have been installed in the 2013 Ram 1500. Changes include increasing the size of the infotainment screen to 8.4 inches, upgradable application availability, and the ability to provide passengers with in-vehicle WiFi. Other features that help set the Ram apart from the pack are a start/stop system for fuel conservation and an eight speed twist-dial transmission control on the dashboard.
Ram’s goal was to create a truck that would function as both an everyday family vehicle as well as a commercial pickup for work. With a newly redesigned body frame, engine options, trim levels, and interior features, other trucks couldn’t compare to the new Ram 1500.
