Dec. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Brother International (Gulf) FZE, a leading global manufacturer of laser printers, inkjet printer, label printers, has revealed the availability of the iPrint & Scan application for the Middle East market. The new application allows users to print and scan directly from their Apple® iPhone, Google® Android and Windows® Phone 7 mobile devices when connected to the same network as your printer. The release of the new application follows a recent report from Gartner, a leading business intelligence and research firm, forecasting that the global applications market will grow to USD 58 billion in the next two years.

Once installed, the iPrint & Scan application immediately connects the mobile device to any Brother printer. The application allows users to print JPEG photos and PDF documents straight from any Apple® iPhone, Google® Android and Windows® Phone 7 mobile devices, while at the same time scan an image directly onto the same set of devices. The iPrint & Scan works compatibly with the following mobile devices and operating systems—Apple® iPhone (iOS 3.0, 3.1.x, 4.0*, 4.2*, 4.3*); Apple® iPod Touch (iOS 3.0, 3.1.x, 4.0 Generation 2.0,* 4.2 Generation 2.0,' 4.3 Generation 2.0); Apple® iPad (iOS 3.2, 4.2, 4.3); Google® Android Phones and Tablets (OS 1.6, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 3.0, 3.1) and Windows® Phone 7 (OS 7.0).

“We are pleased to reveal the availability of the iPrint & Scan app for the Middle East market,” said Soichi Murakami, Managing Director, Brother International (Gulf) FZE. “The release of this new application reflects our continuous move towards developing key solutions that can best answer the challenges presented by our users. With the use of iPrint & Scan, users can quickly connect to their network printers thereby saving a lot of time and even bring in an increase in efficiency and productivity.”

The Gartner report further states that while the Apple App Store will likely maintain a dominant share of revenue from the still infant mobile app industry through 2014, rival app stores launched by competitors are slowly but surely chipping away at Apple® market shares. Google® Inc.’s Android Market, Nokia® Ovi Store, Research In Motion® (RIM’s) App World, Microsoft® Marketplace and Samsung® Apps reportedly witnessed an increase in the number of downloads from their respective stores in 2011. In addition to this, Fiksu®, a marketing technology company, released a report entitled the 'App Store Competitive Index, ' which states that since November 2011, a total of 5.65 million app downloads occurs everyday, reflecting an 83 per cent increase from the previous year.
