First ever osteopathic postgraduate fellowship specialty program has been set up by the National Academy of Osteopathy.
The fellowship program in Osteopathic Rehabilitation Sciences consists of 4200 hours of studies; which includes 1000 hours of clinical practice. It is open only to manual osteopaths who have passed the board exams of the Canadian Manual Osteopathy Examining Board & are licensed members of the International Osteopathic Association.
This specialty program satisfies the requirements for osteopathy education set by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2010. Graduates are permitted to identify themselves as osteopathic specialists once they join the College of Osteopathic Rehabilitation Sciences as fellows and to use FCORS designation.
This is the first time manual osteopaths have an opportunity to become specialists. National Academy of Osteopathy continues to offer innovative unique osteopathic education to the world.
