PRLog - Dec. 20, 2012 - NEW ORLEANS -- Finding the perfect mix of history and functionality in a wedding and reception venue is often easier said than done. Located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Albany Plantation has long provided brides, grooms and their guests a one of a kind place to get married and celebrate, proving itself a leader among Louisiana wedding venues. Albany Plantation provides the atmosphere of the Old South while keeping features of the property updated to maximize appeal to today’s modern brides. For this reason, Albany Plantation has completed several upgrades on site to enhance the property for weddings and receptions.
Albany Plantation - A Perfect Wedding Venue
Some of the upgrades to Albany Plantation include sugar cane kettle fountains and a dance floor in the back courtyard. The sugar cane kettle fountains were added to the grounds and guests can best appreciate them from the indoor reception/buffet area through the glass wall viewpoint. The floor to ceiling glass wall on the bottom floor of the plantation is also a recent addition. It adds square footage to the plantation’s reception space. The newly added dance floor in the back courtyard lends more space to host wedding receptions and compete with other Louisiana wedding venues. The upgrades exemplify the property’s goal of capturing the South’s romantic era while still providing functionality for today’s weddings and receptions.
Albany Plantation is also looking to make changes to its barn. The Albany Plantation Barn is currently used as beautiful photo opportunity for brides and wedding parties due to its natural setting. However, the property hopes to add a sawdust floor to the barn in order to provide another location for various events at Albany Plantation. The goal is that the Albany Plantation Barn would become another place to gather or even host small wedding receptions.
The property boasts a modern and timeless wedding experience. Albany Plantation ensures that this experience continues through its upgrades and future plans to add new features to its already historic grounds. The bricks of the plantation were imported to capture Natchez architecture of the 1800s. With this feature, Albany Plantation is able to provide a Deep South plantation atmosphere for weddings and receptions. In addition, the site features hand-forged antique doors, custom shutters, a New Orleans style courtyard and spacious porches and rear balconies. By adding to its existing features, Albany Plantation strives to bring functionality to its site. The property claims it can achieve this due to its size and location, which are unique among other Louisiana wedding venues.
The new upgrades and potential additions to Albany Plantation add to the property’s already existing services. The property provides indoor and outdoor ceremony venues and indoor and outdoor reception venues. Weddings can also utilize Albany Plantation’s rehearsal and ceremony locations, cake and gift tables, white folding chairs for outdoor ceremonies and the site’s dance floor and staging for entertainment. Setting itself apart from other Louisiana wedding venues, Albany Plantation aims to provide for all of a wedding party’s needs onsite, working with DJs, bakeries, photographers and florists to further assist with all aspects of the wedding day.
