STRAWBERRY SWEET RED BEAN PORRIDGES
PRLog - Dec. 20, 2012 - Offering a wide range of authentic Korean cuisine and desserts while enjoying the panoramic views of Gangnam through floor-to-ceiling windows on the 24th floor, Park Hyatt Seoul’s The Lounge presents homemade red bean porridges that will warm bodies in the freezing weather.

Created using Park Hyatt Seoul’s unique recipes, The Lounge’s sweet red bean porridges are healthy, nourishing dishes made with pure organic red beans from Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, grown without any organosynthetic agricultural chemicals or additives. After being boiled multiple times to remove the bitter taste, the red beans are grinded and sifted to become fine and soft, and boiled once again after adding fresh glutinous rice to develop a deeper, richer taste. Because honey instead of sugar is used, the sweet red bean porridge is not too sweet, yet offers the natural aroma and flavour of the red bean. Served in traditional Korean earthenware with unique side dishes, The Lounge’s sweet red bean porridge serves two people and is not only a wonderful sweet dessert but also a filling meal containing a lot of glutinous rice. Guests can choose from three different selections, each with distinctive concepts.

The ‘Traditional Sweet Red Bean Porridge’ topped with rice dumplings, sliced fresh chestnuts and jujubes comes with homemade fried vegetable/fruit chips, mini-sized injeolmi and refreshing dongchimi. The ‘Hallabong Sweet Red Bean Porridge’ with rice dumplings and dried persimmons on top comes with hallabong compote with honeycomb, honey-roasted macadamia nuts and hallabong ice-cream mochi with, while the ‘Strawberry Sweet Red Bean Porridge’ topped with rice dumplings, chestnuts, sweet pumpkins and sweet potatoes on top is served with strawberry compote with white meringue, honey-roasted sunflower seeds, and strawberry ice-cream mochi. The sweet red bean porridges are priced from KRW 27,000 for two persons. Prices include a 10% tax and no service charge applies.
