Follow on Google News | MustseeIndia launches E-commerce for Holiday PackagesThe popular travel website Mustseeindia.com launched its E-commerce product for Holiday Packages, where travelers can book customized holiday packages online in only 10 minutes
By: Must See India One of the unique things about the product as per their CEO, Mr Vikas Rana, is the ability to customize your package online without any call center intervention. “With this product, users can customize every piece of their holiday package ranging from hotels and meals to transportation and sightseeing items. This is revolutionary and has never been done before”, says Vikas. According to the Vikas, “Online Holiday Planning in India has not taken off as expected. The biggest reason is that the current travel service providers just don’t get it. They are approaching it in a very traditional way which is neither scalable, nor profitable. The industry needs to innovate.” Ecommerce in India has been growing at a healthy pace with customers being more comfortable swiping credit card online. Last few years have seen emergence of ecommerce as a new vertical with the rise of popular portals like Flipkart, Myntra and MakeMytrip in products as diverse as books, electronics, apparel and flight tickets. Customers are now demanding same convenience with holiday packages. With current OTAs (Online Travel Agent), customers have to go through long and complex process spanning 2-3 weeks to book a customized package. Additionally, travel companies don’t divulge the breakup of a package making it much harder for customers to understand the costs behind it. “This current process is designed to work to the advantage of travel companies. If the industry has to grow, there has to be a more customer centric approach. More power need to be given to customer”, says Vikas. As seen in other sectors, technology brings in more efficiency. In next few years, we’re likely to see more travel companies adopting technology and coming up with similar products. End
