“Operation Christmas Child” brings the gift of joy and hope to children around the world with the giving of gift-filled shoe boxes. For many children the gift filled shoe box is the first gift they have ever received. Thanks to “Operation Christmas Child”, thousands of children in desperate situations will get the gift of Christmas this year – regardless of race, religion or gender. For 2012, shoe boxes from Canada are set to be distributed to the following countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Uruguay and Venezuela.
