RES MANUFACTURING RECEIVES SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE AWARD FROM TESLA MOTORS

MILWAUKEE, WIS. (December 18, 2012). – Res Manufacturing was awarded the Excellent Quality Performance Award by California-based Tesla Motors. It was presented to the company by Elon Musk, Tesla Motors co-founder and CEO.

The award recognizes Res’ commitment to stringent design and time to market demands which result in high-quality parts for use in Tesla Model S, the world’s first premium electric sedan.

Res is one of Tesla’s more than 200 suppliers to the high-performance Model S, and was one of only several to receive an achievement award.

“We are overjoyed by the award and the recognition of the contribution made by all Res’ associates. It acts to support our mission, our company philosophy - to provide the highest level of metal stamping products and superior services,” says John Ormerod, President of Res Manufacturing. “Other award recipients were large multi-national corporations. When we consider this, the award means that much more to us.

Res Manufacturing signed a multi-year supply contract with Tesla Motors in Fall of 2011. Res was selected over multiple foreign and U.S. competitors, including suppliers located in the Pacific Rim.

Res has since developed over 70 tools, components and assemblies for the Model S. In November, the Model S was named Motor Trend 2013 Car of the Year.

As a result of the new business secured with companies such as Tesla, Res Manufacturing has increased its associate workforce. During the latter half of 2012 and first half of 2013, the company projects a 15% increase in employees.

Res employs custom Poka-Yoke inspection systems to ensure its industry-leading stamping parts and assemblies are designed, produced and manufactured error free, to the highest degree of quality.
