Centennial Medical Center Designated an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 18, 2012 - Centennial Medical Center (http://www.centennialmedcenter.com/) in Frisco, Texas, was recently designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.  

Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, determined that Centennial has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.

“We are proud to receive the ACR center of excellence designation because it shows that the Centennial mammography department and its physicians are well qualified and have exceeded standards in all aspects of breast imaging diagnostics,” said Joe Thomason, Centennial Medical Center’s chief executive officer. “We are always looking for ways to improve our quality of care and are happy to be recognized for the hard work and dedication by our staff.”  

In addition, Centennial was recently named one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures (http://www.centennialmedcenter.com/en-us/aboutus/hospital...) by The Joint Commission (http://www.jointcommission.org/). Hospitals recognized as Top Performers demonstrate exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions.
