PRLog - Dec. 18, 2012 - Technical outdoor specialist extremities (http://www.terra-nova.co.uk/p/about-the-brands/extremities/) has unveiled its latest range of products to keep skiers warm – in any weather and at any altitude.

The latest material technology and product design have been incorporated into the extremities brand, resulting in leading-edge gear developed and tested under some of the most severe conditions in the world.

The difference in temperature between resort level and the highest lift is always striking – especially when the sun drops behind neighbouring peaks or as freezing cloud closes in.

Carolyn Budding, marketing director at extremities, said: “Skiing or boarding at altitude brings its own challenges. We’ve all had the experience of hitting an ice storm just off the top lift when the temperature plummets to minus 20 or minus 30. Situations like that soon show up any shortcomings in your kit.

“Over the last 12 months materials technology has continued to evolve , and we’re really excited about our range this winter. We know it will keep skiers warm no matter what the weather and no matter where you are on the mountain.”

Highlights include new high-spec gloves like Super Munro GTX (http://www.terra-nova.co.uk/clothing-accessories/all-glov...), which features Gore-Tex to keep your hands dry, and 10oz Primaloft insulation to keep them really warm when the temperature gauge drops.

The Super Corbett Glove (http://www.terra-nova.co.uk/clothing-accessories/all-glov...), meanwhile, also harnesses the waterproofing and breathability of Gore-Tex combined with 10oz of synthetic insulation. It is available in men’s and women’s fits.

The ripstop nylon outer and PU palm grip provide strength and durability, making this an ideal glove for use with ski poles or hiking poles.

Other new items include a 100 per cent silk balaclava for extra warmth under helmets or hats, and the Windy Convertible Mitt (http://www.terra-nova.co.uk/clothing-accessories/all-glov...) – combining a fingerless glove and a full mitt in Windstopper fabric.

Extremities offers technical outdoor products for head, hand and foot protection. It is the sister brand of renowned outdoor specialist Terra Nova, whose products have been used by the military and British Antarctic Survey – and whose tents hold multiple Guinness World Records and are used in some of the most challenging locations on Earth, including Mount Everest.
