On National Spaghetti Day, we associate pasta with the Italians, who have revolutionized the dish and invented a wide variety of pasta shapes. Spaghetti is the most common round-rod type of pasta and in Italian, “spaghetti” Restaurateur's Pierre and Marietta Bain announced in honor National Spaghetti Day, Fandango will be serving a lunch special of Pasta St. Bayon with choice of soup and salad and dessert for $14.95 plus tax. Named after a town in the South of France, this pasta dish has sundried tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese and walnuts! Fandango Pesto Spaghetti Recipe Basil Cream Sauce: • ¾ cup Pine Nuts • 3 Cups Fresh Basil • 1 Tbsp. Dried Basil • 5 or more Garlic Cloves, peeled and cored • ½ cup Olive Oil • 1 ½ cup Parmesan, grated • Salt and Pepper With a pestle pound garlic, basil and pine nuts in a mortar with some salt to obtain a paste. Add the oil and mix. Then add cheese. Season with salt and pepper Cook spaghetti until Al Dente. Thin pesto with ½ cup cooking water. Mix spaghetti and pesto, toss and serve with additional parmesan.
