A long-standing partner of Inmarsat, TC is Australia’s leading satellite communications specialist providing mission-critical systems to some of the region’s largest organisations. The addition of Inmarsat’s market-leading BGAN into TC’s solutions portfolio strengthens the company’s value propositions to key customers in the media, defence, and mining sectors.
Todd McDonell, CEO at TC Communications, said “TC has been providing leading edge solutions using the Inmarsat network for more than 20 years with some of TC’s customers from 20 years ago still using TC’s Inmarsat based systems today. The appointment of TC as a Distribution Partner for all of Inmarsat’s I4 Land Based services confirms the mutual success TC and Inmarsat have enjoyed over this time and sets the stage for further exciting opportunities in the coming years.”
Delivered via the world’s most reliable satellite communications network, BGAN provides secure voice and data services simultaneously through a single device. BGAN terminals are small and lightweight, and can easily be deployed in minutes to access the internet and make phone calls from anywhere in the world.
“TC Communications are a very innovative organisation well-versed in creating tailored satellite communication services. This partnership represents a strong endorsement of Inmarsat’s BGAN service in the Australian market,” said Drew Brandy, Vice President, Industry, Inmarsat.
He added: “Given the geography, the unique nature of the Australian market and the growing requirement for unmanned communication, there is a tremendous opportunity for TC to break new ground, leveraging solutions like BGAN M2M and their expertise in customising solutions for bespoke projects.”
BGAN M2M and BGAN Link are the latest addition to the BGAN portfolio. Launched in January 2012, BGAN M2M targets the growing market for machine-to-machine communications. The service offers a scalable solution for smart metering, SCADA, remote asset monitoring, environmental data reporting, and other telemetry requirements.
