The GreenTech EC fan is already available and can be supplied as either a fixed 2-speed version or as a variable 0-10V version. This gives the user the advantage that the speed of the fan can be precisely adjusted to satisfy actual requirements. During development, no compromises were made with respect to robustness and reliability. The tried and tested wall ring made of die-cast aluminium and the EC HyBlade® fan unite all advantages with respect to acoustics and efficiency. The motor electronics are protected against splash water to comply with the requirements of protection rating IP54. It can even cope with ambient temperatures as high as +70 °C.
The use of the aerodynamically optimised HyBlade® impeller and of external rotor motor make the W3G200 an especially energy-efficient solution. The HyBlade® impellers are made of resilient, fibre-glass-
The EC compact fan is also available in a 250mm diameter size. The "little brother", the W1G130, was successfully introduced to ebm-papst's broad product range in 2011, designed for use in switch cabinets and cooling applications, for example bottle coolers or refrigeration furniture.
Existing AC fans with their much lower efficiency will not be able to satisfy the efficiency requirements of the ErP Directive which will come into force for fans in 2013. Even today, the use of new GreenTech EC fans could enable existing systems to substantially improve the efficiency values stipulated in the next tier of the ErP Directive which will become effective in 2015.
