Digital Nations - New Music Release - Riccardo Gioggi

Dec. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, CA, December 2012: Italian virtuoso guitarist and composer Riccardo Gioggi releases, “A Theory Of Dynamics”, his debut solo album of original material! This title comes out on Digital Nations Entertainment,  digital-only label and subsidiary of Favored Nations Entertainment, the label founded in 1999 by the rock guitar master and three-time GRAMMY-winner  Steve Vai. Riccardo Gioggi’s new record expresses universal reflection about the idea of destiny and dynamics, which are driving forces in everyone’s life.

A Theory Of Dynamics features guest musicians including astounding american fretless bass player Michael Manring, a solo artist and session player with hundreds of collaborations including Michael Hedges, Attention Deficit (with members of Primus and Testament), Jeff Loomis and many others.

Bassist Michael Manring duets with Gioggi on “Air”, a very expressive and intense song where the instruments sound is perfectly blended sonically with Gioggi’s guitar playing. Other highlights include the title track (which closes the album), “The Spy Song”, “Dreamt 11” and the opener “Time Rush”.

The music Riccardo plays is an energetic blend of rock, metal, funk and progressive, in which his natural attitude for challenging guitar parts which never compromises the composition, creating a balanced mix of melody and technique.

“Music is the only thing that matters”, explains Riccardo. “I obviously love to play terrific, tricky guitar parts. That’s who I am, that’s my guitarist nature. But when I compose, I just forget what I can or can’t do on guitar. My goal is just create beautiful music at the best that I can, and then playing it at high performance”.

In support of his latest record, a music video for “The Spy Song” has been recently released. Directed by the Italian video maker and director  Marco Poderi (who has already worked for ads with Rolling Stone Italy, Ducati), the music video features the musicians who played in the album: Simone Del Pivo (drums) and Marco Mastrobuono (bass).
