- Dec. 17, 2012 - MONTEREY, Calif. --
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) is honored to host its annual Fine Arts Exhibit at the Museum of Monterey on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6-8pm. In partnership with the Museum of Monterey, Monterey History & Art Association, a grant from the Arts Council of Monterey and the generous support of the Mulford Family, BGCMC will honor over 30 youth for their achievement in the arts. “This year, our exhibit has been renamed in honor of Marti Mulford for her passion for art and nurturing the creativity of youth. This exhibition has been a tradition for well over 12 years, and it’s an honor this year to re-name it in her honor,” said Marissa Serna, Impact Coordinator for the Art program at BGCMC.
The comprehensive arts program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County includes exposure and training in various mediums. Members produce work ranging from markers and crayons to elaborate digital photography and award wining fine arts projects. A few selections from honorees will be submitted to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Fine Arts Exhibit in the Spring.
