Our vision is to create a comprehensive program that will enhance the participants’ ability to become productive and economically viable participants in the Metropolitan Detroit community. Samaritan Way was conceptualized as a community-based initiative with attendant programs designed to address the needs of a trans-generational population; working with seniors, working families and youth. In concert with state and federal funded non-profit programs Samaritan Way has a strong commercial component that will spur economic growth while creating a significant number of job opportunities and a skilled labor force. Program areas include:

• Senior Retirement Village- Senior Apartments, Adult Daycare, Independent Living

• Child Development Center – Day Care, Pre-school and After-School Programs

• Low Income Housing Development – Individual 2 & 3 bedroom homes with 2-car garages

• Career Training – Job training, in conjunction with an Internet Café and computer lab

• Community Center-Recreation and fitness center; along with classrooms and a performing arts program and theatre

• Community Health & Dental Center- Health/Dental Center, Pharmacy, Urgent Care, Physical Therapy, Home Health Care

• Domestic Violence Program- Counseling and transitional housing for battered women and children

By partnering with local schools, businesses, and existing non-profit organizations, Samaritan Way will address the personal needs of thousands of individual program participants. It will also address the needs of the Metro Detroit community at large by providing sorely needed economic development, hundreds of jobs, and a skilled labor pool prepared to step into the emerging jobs of a shifting economic reality. This marriage of human service and commerce will characterize the growing trend of empowering the individual while simultaneously charting a course to Michigan’s vibrant economic recovery.
