The children were amazing, aging from 4 to 18 years of age, met us at the door as polite and excited as if it were already Christmas. They had prepared some 40 Christmas cards, hand written with words from their hearts to the men who they only knew as "soldiers" defending their country, keeping them safe this holiday season. They sang a jolly, "We wish you a Merry Christmas" song with smiles that lit up the room at the children's home.
We asked the children if anyone would like to read a card to the soldiers and volunteers sprang up across the room. One by one they read their cards with the YouTube video rolling, as open and direct as if they were speaking to the soldier in the room with them.
