“We celebrate Carolyn and her many, many contributions by recognizing her in this way”, said Bill Duncan, Board Chair for Catholic Charities of West Tennessee. “We as a Holy Family strive to create a community connecting faith with life and reaching out to those in need. In order to achieve this, we need to carry out our mission with grace and mercy. I can’t think of a better definition of someone like Carolyn, whose grace and mercy over the years has made Memphis, and Catholic Charities, a much better place”, said Duncan.
For over 25 years Carolyn Tisdale served Catholic Charities of West Tennessee, beginning in its Refugee & Immigration services area and culminating as Executive Director. Carolyn has received many civic and religious acknowledgments of her work including most recently the Martyrs of Memphis Award conferred by Bishop J. Terry Steib, SVD on behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.
The Holy Family Award was created to recognize the efforts of individuals, groups or organizations who, through their efforts have sought to advance the work of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee and the clients we serve. Mrs. Tisdale is only the second person to be honored with this award.
