Dec. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- “Dreams Awake” walked away with two of the top awards at the Angel Film Awards, a part of the Monaco International Film Festival, in Monte Carlo on Sunday night. The film received the Independent Spirit Award and Erin Gray, the star of the film, won Best Actress. Since April of this year the film has garnered quite a number of awards at over 20 different film festivals, where the film’s audience base has continually grown.  Many have been drawn to its positive message and theme.

Both Gray and the film’s director Jerry Alden Deal were on hand to accept the awards. Gray expressed her joy, “At being in a film that reflects so many of my own spiritual ideas and feelings. It was a dream come true to be a part of this film.”

Deal also expressed his gratitude at being there and accepting an award, saying, “It takes a lot of people to create a film, and I am up here because of the hard work of those people.”

Besides Erin Gray, “Dreams Awake” stars Gary Graham and Tim O’Connor. Gray is known primarily for her lead roles in the TV series “Silver Spoons” and “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” but has also appeared in several other TV series’ and indie films. Graham starred in the TV series “Alien Nation” and “Star Trek Enterprise,” along with roles in a number of indie films. O’Connor came out of retirement to cap off his long career, which included starring opposite Erin Gray in “Buck Rogers,” as well as numerous roles dating back to the 1950s. He is primarily known for his role in the 1960’s TV series “Peyton Place.”

“Dreams Awake” focuses on a disconnected family that gets stranded near Mt. Shasta while on vacation. Their family drama expands into a mystical adventure. Giving “a glimpse into the subtle but intense possibilities of the human spirit, the story delves into that magical lore between reality and illusion, dreams and awake, and life, death and immortality.”
