Music Theatre International Announces “24,601 Faces Of Les MisÉrables” Sweepstakes

Dec. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, N.Y. - In honor of the release of Les Misérables the motion picture, set to open nationwide on Christmas Day, Music Theatre International (MTI) is presenting the “24,601 Faces of Les Misérables Sweepstakes (http://www.mtishowspace.com/content/421236/24601-faces-of-les-misrables-sweepstakes)” in conjunction with Universal Studios. Prizes are exclusive movie and musical memorabilia for four winners of the free contest and include:

·         a Les Misérables Libretto autographed by the show’s creators

·         an assortment of motion picture promotional materials

·         the novel by Victor Hugo

·         an original Broadway cast recording

·         Les Misérables in Concert 25th Anniversary DVD

To enter, participants must follow the following steps:

1)      Upload a photo/video of yourself either from a production of Les Misérables  / Les Misérables School Edition in which you were involved, a video describing your favorite Les Misérables moment, or a photo/video of yourself and friends at a showing of the film.  

2)      Give your photo/video a title.

3)      Provide a brief description of your photo/video.

4)      Tag your picture with 24601.

Entries will be accepted until January 3, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. ET.  Every Friday during the Sweepstakes (December 14, 21, 28, January 4) a winner will be randomly selected and announced on Facebook (facebook.com/mtishows) & Twitter (@mtishows)*. The winner will also be emailed directly.

The original production, still running in London has approximately 101 cast and crew directly involved in every performance (not including front of house staff, ticket sales, wardrobe staff, set contractors, maintenance, office staff, advertising and publicity.)  Each performance entails 392 costumes consisting of over 5000 items of clothing and 85 wigs.

Les Misérables gave 6680 performances on Broadway from February 28, 1987 to May 18, 2003.  The production grossed $406,258,901.00 with an average ticket price of $46.00

The Motion Picture

The feature film version of Les Misérables hits theatres December 25, 2012 and stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks with Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. It is produced by Cameron Mackintosh with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan of
