Three Latino Boys in Documentary Film Share Personal Journeys to College Before a Live Audience.

On December 17th, Alumni of Bell Gardens High will gather to share their lives on a big screen. Amongst viewers will be documentary’s three featured boys Edgar, Abel & Julio who will witness their own personal stories go public for the first time!

Dec. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- In an effort to better understand our dwindling college-bound American population, Los Angeles filmmaker Graham Streeter embedded himself in East Los Angeles, where he befriended Julio, Edgar, and Abel: three Latino seniors; each attempting to navigate through the daunting and challenging transition between high school and college in their own unique ways.

The feature-length essay is a compelling look into the common obstacles that face young Hispanic men who truly aspire to better their lives by obtaining a college education and the goodness of teachers, parents and programs that strive to make that possible. Streeter captures the realistic, inspirational yet heart-wrenching angle to each boy’s journey, while still underscoring its big picture relevance; its economic and social impact on our nation as a whole.

Streeter’s directorial work can be best known for the feature film CAGES (2005) written and directed by Graham Streeter and distributed by Hallmark Channel, spanning over 23 countries, and over 20 million viewers.  Streeter has made a name for himself through his film company Imperative Pictures, which aims to deliver informative and inspirational content about people challenged by the imperative issues of our times.  Streeter is currently finishing up his next feature drama film UNPEACEABLE to be released in early 2013.
