Michael Carluccio Scores Another Hit with Christmas and Las Vegas Legends Show in Sterling Hgts.

“I noticed several in the audience closing their eyes and remembering past Christmas parties or concerts,” reported Ms. Price.  “This is always the best time of any year to reflect on the happiest times of our lives.”

Carluccio’s favorite concert activity is to walk through the audience and implore individuals to sing along with him.  “Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t work,” confessed Michael.  “But, at least it leaves a smile or a giggle.”

Not many people remember the classic Christmas songs from entertainers like Burl Ives, whose song Have a Holly Jolly Christmas, is always on the radio.  Yet, when Carluccio belted his rendition of Ives’ song, everybody was swaying and singing the words before it ended.

Burl Ives was an American actor, writer and folk music singer. As an actor, Ives's work included comedies, dramas, and voice work in theater, television, and motion pictures. Music critic John Rockwell said, "Ives's voice ... had the sheen and finesse of opera and it moved people."

For his finale, Carluccio chose Frank Sinatra’s rendition of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.  Written in 1943, the heart warming Christmas song was immortalized by Judy Garland and usually brought tears to the eyes of the audience.

In 1957, Frank Sinatra asked composer Hugh Martin to revise the line, "Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow."  Sinatra told Martin, “Do you think you could jolly up that line for me?"  The song’s new line became, "Hang a shining star upon the highest bough."
