New Online Architect Resource Page Provides Resources for Fabric Awnings and Canopies

Professional Awning Manufacturers Association has launched a resource to enhance PAMA's AIA accredited architect education program and provide info and links about fabric awnings and shade structures to architects and building professionals.

Dec. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- ROSEVILLE, MN (December 12, 2012) – The Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA) launched a new online Architect Resource page, http://www.awninginfo.com/commercial_awning_architects_resources.html, to provide resources on fabric awnings, canopies and shade structures to architects, designers and other building professionals. The new page features links to PAMA’s Fabric Awning and Canopy Fabric Specifier’s selection tool, an interactive tool that matches fabrics to project specifications, as well as information on energy savings, brochures, videos, case studies, a commercial design center and a directory of awning companies that design, fabricate and install awnings.

Case study videos on commercial awning use illustrate how restaurants, office buildings and healthcare facilities have enhanced their businesses, and in some cases, bottom lines, using fabric awnings and canopies. The online commercial and residential design centers highlight practical, aesthetic and creative designs for new and existing buildings.

Another link connects building professionals with a new Awning Energy Study 2012: “The Impact on Energy Use and Peak Demand of Awnings and Roller Shades in Residential Buildings,” showing energy saving data for awnings and exterior roller shades in 50 U.S. cities. Awnings and roller shades are energy neutral products suitable for both home retrofits and new construction.

The Architect Resource page was developed to enhance PAMA’s American Institute of Architects (AIA) accredited architect education program, “Awnings: Enhancing your design,” to provide architects with a single link to resources.  “Awnings: Enhancing your design,” a one-hour seminar is available to architectural firms through PAMA.
