Smiles for Survivor Foundation’s Happy Hour at House of Blues Foundation Room Raises Over $2,500

Dec. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS— Smiles for Survivors Foundation (http://www.smilesforsurvivors.org/)™ (SFS) happy hour event on Friday, Nov. 30 at the House of Blues Foundation Room (HOB) raised more than $2,500 for the Las Vegas-based non-profit. The event that was sponsored by Couture Dermatology & Plastic Surgery (http://www.couturemedical.com/) attracted more than 100 people and was a part of HOB’s 20th anniversary celebration supporting local non-profits. In addition to proceeds from a raffle, the venue donated a percentage of its food and beverage sales to Smiles for Survivors whose mission is to provide dental services for cancer patients and survivors suffering from the oral side effects of cancer treatments.

“The House of Blues Foundation Room should be commended for its support of local non-profit organizations like Smiles. The venue was the perfect intimate setting for us to share Smiles’ mission with attendees,” said Dr. Olya Banchik, Smiles founder and executive director. Attendees included breast cancer patients, survivors and members of the Las Vegas medical and business communities.

“As the first non-profit to address breast cancer patients’ oral health complications that results from cancer treatment, we are receiving requests for help from women coast to coast,” explains Dr. Banchik. “Because of wonderful partners like House of Blues Foundation Room, expanding Smiles’ reach nationwide is something we can now consider.”

Raffle prizes were donated from local businesses including: Dr. Leon Banchik, Bikram Yoga Westside, Couture Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, House of RYU Athletic Training Facility, ID You and Co., Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, Red Rock Climbing Center, Stripper 101 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, V The Ultimate Variety Show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Venetian’s DaVinci Exhibit.
