The GVCOP Continues an 18 year Tradition of Providing Toys for Disadvantaged Children

The Greater Vine City Opportunities Program continues an 18 year tradition of providing toys for disadvantaged children at their annual Christmas party.

PRLog - Dec. 12, 2012 - ATLANTA, GA DECEMBER 11,2012-- Many parents receiving unemployment benefits and concerned about providing Christmas gifts for their children will be helped by the efforts of “Able” Mable Thomas, State Representative Elect of District 56 and Founder of the Greater Vine City Opportunities Program. At the highly anticipated GVCOP 18th Annual Christmas Party hosted in association with the D.R.E.A.M. Team and the English Avenue Neighborhood Association families receiving unemployment benefits from all over the Atlanta Metropolitan area are invited to attend. “In the past we have been able to provide toys and gifts to over 400 children and if ever there was a time families needed an economic boost it is right now during the Christmas season”, stated “Able” Mable Thomas.

On Saturday December 15, 2012 from 11am to 2pm at the Salvation Army Bellwood Boys and Girls Club located at 777 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy (formerly Bankhead Hwy) families will be greeted by Atlanta City Councilman Michael Bond as Santa Claus. Food and beverages will be provided by Chick-Fil-A and the Georgia Beverage Association. Toys and gifts will be distributed to children ages 1 through 16 from donations provided by caring citizens collected by the GVCOP, the Atlanta City Government Employees and Stimulate America. Live Entertainment will dazzle the crowd and parents won’t be left out of the gift giving by receiving gift bags courtesy of Bronner Brothers.

The GVCOP 18th Annual Christmas Party is powered by the Greater Vine City Opportunities Program,the D.R.E.A.M. Team, the English Avenue Neighborhood Association, Chick-Fil-A, Bronner Brothers,Stimulate America, United Corp International Kitchen & Bath, People United Foundation, The Atlanta Xplosion, Georgia Beverage Association, Good Ol’ Boys Charities, Gang Breakers, the Kiwanis Club of Northside Atlanta and many considerate citizens for their toy donations.
