As part of the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and other individuals needing recuperative and continuing care, Home Helpers & Direct Link of San Clemente, CA began serving the local community on November 30th.
Mr. Fletcher has 30 years of experience as a business executive. After such a long stint in the business world, he was seeking to engage in a business that could help make a real difference in the lives of others. After months of soul-searching, it became clear that a business serving seniors and those struggling with disabilities and injuries was a business Mr. Fletcher could take pride in.
After earning her MBA from Hawaii Pacific University, Mrs. Fletcher served for many years in support of the U.S. Coastguard as a Program Analyst. Her exceptional work earned her many awards.
The couple’s passion for the care and nurturing of others was inspired by their parents. Mr. Fletcher’s parents cared for his own grandmother for 17 years, and Mrs. Fletcher’s parents still care for her 97-year-old grandmother in Okinawa, Japan.
“We strive to deliver the same quality of care we’d expect for our own families while offering clients a more affordable alternative to assisted living or nursing care facilities,”
Mrs. Fletcher added, “I’m pleased about the opportunity to help local seniors lead healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives in the comfort of their own homes.”
Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with clients one-on-one to tailor a flexible care plan to meet their specific needs and budgets. Services offered include companionship, personal hygiene, meal preparation, transportation, and medical services, including medication management, vital signs monitoring and care management.
Direct Link’s exclusive line of medical alert systems are monitored 24/7 by a CSAA 5-Diamond Certified Care Center, enabling seniors to live independently at home for as long as safely possible. The Direct Link product suite includes land-line and cellular personal emergency response systems (PERS), automated medication dispensers, GPS client-tracking Care Watch and remote vital signs monitoring units. If a Direct Link unit is activated or a reading is abnormal, the device alerts Home Helpers staff, 911 or any pre-established contacts, thereby easing family anxieties and maximizing client independence.
“In a society where family members sometimes live hundreds of miles from each other, Home Helpers & Direct Link can step in to fill the role of a good neighbor,” Mrs. Fletcher said. “Because our clients decide how often they need us and what services we can provide for them, it allows Home Helpers & Direct Link to offer affordable and convenient choices based on client specific requirements.”
