TUMON (November 30, 2012) – Hyatt Regency Guam hootel is excited to announce the return of the Holiday Gingerbread House - a spectacular, life-sized gingerbread house in the hotel lobby. On Thursday, December 6, 2012 Hyatt will be turning the key to officially open the stunning holiday display with a festive event featuring special entertainment from BodyArts School of Dance with excerpts from the Nutcracker and Guam Adventist Academy Handbell Choir, appearances from Santa Claus and a heartwarming holiday story reading from First Lady Christine Calvo. Children who arrive early will be invited to decorate the Gingerbread House with Christmas cookies and candies.

The event is open to the island community and admission is free. Hyatt holiday treats and refreshments will be served and attendees of the event will receive an exclusive 15% dining discount for dinner at La Mirenda, Niji and Al Dente.

The tradition of the Holiday Gingerbread House began in 2011 with the construction of the island’s largest gingerbread house. The magical house, designed and sculpted by Hyatt engineers and award-winning Pastry Chef Suharto, stands at 12-feet tall and consists of approximately 400 sheets of fresh-baked gingerbread bricks and 800 pounds of royal icing, and is adorned with colorful candies, cookies and sweet treats. Throughout the month, the gingerbread house will be a main feature of Hyatt’s Winter Wonderland display that will include scheduled Christmas caroling, Santa story time and photo-taking opportunities with Santa Claus and his elves.
