Jermaine Anderson Named Hotel Manager for the Godfrey Hotel Chicago

Dec. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, Ill. –December, 2012 – Jermaine Anderson has been named hotel manager for The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, an upper upscale lifestyle property opening next summer in the River North neighborhood, according to George Jordan, area general manager for the Hotel Cass, Hotel Felix and The Godfrey Hotel Chicago and senior vice president of operations for Oxford Hotels & Resorts.  In his new role, Anderson will oversee day-to-day operations, marketing and sales, and will manage an expected team of 100 employees for the 221-room independent hotel owned by Oxford 127 Huron Hotel Venture Property Company, LLC, an Oxford Capital Group, LLC-led venture with Cube Capital.

“Jermaine brings an innate ability to orchestrate a service-focused team, and to manage the many demands of the discerning leisure and business travelers we will welcome,” says Jordan.  “We are fortunate to have him leading our team as we prepare for a successful opening next summer,” he adds.

Anderson brings extensive hotel management experience to the team, having most recently served as the general manager at the Raffaello Hotel in Chicago. He joined that opening team in 2006 as director of operations and was promoted to general manager in 2010. While there, he was responsible for the overall hotel success and oversaw a $1.1 million build out and opening of the hotel’s rooftop bar, Drum Bar.

Prior to his career with the Raffaello Hotel in Chicago, Anderson worked with several Hyatt properties starting with Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago. Next, he moved to the Hyatt Regency Lisle where he earned his first Manager of the Year award in 2001. Anderson continued to succeed with Hyatt properties and began a new executive role at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing  and earned his second Manager of the Year award in 2004. Anderson’s final move with Hyatt brought him back to Chicago to the Hyatt Regency O’Hare where he was the front office manager responsible for the proper training and daily monitoring of all service level employees.

The Chicago native is an active member of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association and Streeterville’s SOAR.  He studied hospitality management at Chicago State University and lives in Chicago.
