During the first two and a half weeks of November, Approved Auto Mart, http://www.approvedautomart.com pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds for each sale, in the customer's name. The total donation equaled $250.
Approved Auto Mart chose to benefit the Weld Food Bank, http://www.weldfoodbank.org, in this charity effort, as it is a local organization, benefiting the Weld county community that Approved Auto Mart is located. This great organization has a variety of programs for its community in need including programs like their food boxes, children's food backpack, and kid's cafe.
According to Census.gov and 2010 statistics there is a higher percentage of the populcation in Weld County living in poverty at 13.5% compared to Colorado's average of 12.5%. http://quickfacts.census.gov/
As we head into winter and the holidays, the effects of hunger are often more dramatic as heating bills are higher, leaving less money left for those in need to feed their families.
Approved Auto Mart plans to continue to be involved with the Weld Food Bank and looks forward to announcing a food drive within the next month.
